Who put their finger in the mash potatoes?!

Non stop fun having Claire & Jeremy of Day19 stay with us for the past couple of days. Plenty of mischief to be had in BK. Been great getting to know their friends. Went out celebrating Jeremy's birthday.
Fun times.
Finally got to meet Louis, the much acclaimed blogger of besosyfotos. Hoping the rain holds out
for the bbq tonight!
Tomorrow we are all off to NJ for a party on a small private island... well not really private but I thought it made for better reading. More like a really tiny island of only 60 homes on Lake Hopatcong. Keep you filled in later on all the festivities.
Have a great weekend!

1+1=2

I can smell the shoe collaborations in the air... and boy oh boy am I getting psyched. Not that I will be able to afford all of them but some will definitely be able to find there way into my closet.
Salvatore Ferregamo and Yohji Yamamoto have joined forces to launch some pretty sleek kicks. Yohji took inspiration from Ferragamo classics to create seven men´s shoes that will sell at between $500 and 1000. The collection that brings together Ferragamo´s masterful tradition and Yamamoto´s unique vision will be in the shops by autumn 2009.
Another shoe collab I am definitely excited about is the continuation of the Alice&Olivia for Payless. The fall boots are looking super duper fly. Nylon has been so nice as to use them in some editorials. Check em...
Once again Gap is bringing back Pierre Hardy for another shoe allinace. Loving the grey suede.

Now for some other news......
All at this point you should be familiar with Gilt Groupe and if not then you better get on it! The high discount designer website launched in 2007 and has become a fashion mega site. Save the date for August 12th cause they are about to enter the not so designer side of things and launch a sister site called Gilt Fuse, which will focus on the less expensive, but still desirable bridge and contemporary labels that you might find at Barneys Co-op or Scoop.

Everybodys doing it.

Fringe and Feathers are all the rage.

Perused the good old world wide web for some images to show of the trends that wont stop harassing me. Most of the images came from Polyvore. Feathers are definitely more my style but I am totally falling for some of these fringe pieces. I am dreaming of a fringe cape with an eclectic leather fringe purse, something you would find in a vintage store up-state NY.

enjoy,

Out and about.

Was party hopping the other night and stopped by Operations monthly bbq fete. Of course the style mavens were out in droves. Here are a few pics I was able to snap. Loved all the pop colors. Whether it was a yellow purse, turq sneakers, red jeans or orange heels these people knew how to throw it all together!

The show must go on.

I have definitely had my fill of trade shows for awhile, or at least until the women's market officially begins. First we made our way to Project which has downsized from its normal colossal vastness. I have to be honest, this show is no longer the pioneer of emerging lines and has become a main stream mass of menswear and denim. Of course there were a few things that unquestionably caught my attention. First time debuting in the USA, None the Richer, a jewelry line based out of Australia. Impressive rings and necklaces at an incredible price. The cutest one of all is the little bow tie necklace!
Paladium Shoes positively will be a hot commodity come this Fall. I have seen these shoes before but now they are relaunching in the US market with a bang. Word on the streets is they will be doing an installation wall at Conveyor Fred Segal in August.

As far as trends go, beyond any doubt washed plaid button-ups and chambray shirts with contrast cuffs are gonna be an all out hit.

Next on the list was Capsule, which has indubitably become the show that everyone desires. Not only was there a better array of lines but also an ample supply of water, beer and A.C. These things may not seem so important but believe me, a full day of trade show walking without a doubt requires hydration, alcohol and keeping cool! Capsule was once again held in the Neo-Goth Angel Orensanz Building. You can tell that the show coordinators definitely think of every little detail when it comes to the ambience. Lots of shoes to be seen at this show along with classic separates. A few of my favorites......

Super Sunglasses has branched out from the Wayfarer like style to awesome spherical shape shades. Loved all of them!
Keds was rocking these sick enzyme wash kicks in the perfect palette.
Cole, Rood & Haan Co. was by far my favorite! Cole Haans heritage collection was filled with worn-in looking shoes containing great details and nice leather. I am definitely looking forward to this line hitting stores this month!
Stand out trends included, studded belts, gingham button downs, saddle shoes, plaid ties/bowties, Navajo prints, and back to basic classic t's.

The Abington Collection by Timberland was showcasing how their shoes are actually hand crafted.

All in all... men's market has some fantastical pieces to offer the cool dudes come spring 2010.
