the art of the ♥

This isn't just any old shape and it is definitely not to be compared to the skull and crossbone. I swear the older I get the more drawn to this incomplex shape I am.
"The heart has long been used as a symbol to refer to the spiritual, emotional, moral, and in the past also intellectual core of a human being. As the heart was once widely believed to be the seat of the human mind, the word heart continues to be used poetically to refer to the soul, and stylized depictions of hearts are extremely prevalent symbols representing love." Wikipedia

I have to say I am over the heart shaped sunglasses but I do love the little figure on many different types of goods. From shirts, earrings, purses, cupcake decor all the way to tattoos and art. Here are a few images of this tiny little friend.

four eyed monster

Now that the sun has finally decided to accompany us I hope you are keeping your eyes covered in some smashing shades. I have always been a fan of glasses, whether they are round and small or huge and bright. My collection started along time ago and has grown into a compilation much like a store display. This season small and round definitely hit the stores in copious amounts but first and foremost you must pic a style that matches the shape of your face, or at least looks good on you! When shopping for your perfect pair I always recommend bringing along a close comrade to guide your eyes to their out-of-this-world companion.
Here are some of my faves, oh and hehehe,,, my collection.

Linda Farrow is one of my all time favorites. The brand was founded in the 70s by Linda Farrow, and was resurrected by Linda’s son in 2003 when he found a stash of his mother’s deadstock vintage frames. Now the label is well known for many of its impressive collaborations.

From left to right: Linda Farrow (LF) for Luella; LF for Rodarte; LF for Jeremy Scott; LF for Mary Ping / Slow and Steady Wins the Race; and my faves, LF for Karen Walker. Karen Walker is one badass Ausie with some super sweet shades. I don't think there is one pair in all her collections that I haven't desired to the fullest.

Even if you're looking for something totally of the wall, I'm sure it is out there... just go and look... how about these Jean-Charles de Castelbajacs!

a moment

of silence. Yesterday was a day that everyone will remember for the rest of their lives. Michael Jackson has passed. Farrah Fawcett also died after battling with colon cancer for the past 2 years. I must say if you are gonna go I would much rather have checked out the way MJ did. You will both be remembered..

on another note... yeah to Friday, and hopefully lots of sunshine!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and get to enjoy the weather. I know I will.... and here come the looks of the week. xox

a little obsessed

I just can't get enough of Jeaneen Lund's photos. Her composition is dead on every time. The Desert, her latest photo shoot is compelling in all forms. I want nothing more than to step right into these pics and be a part of this party. You can even purchase these photos in her book, Desert.
Here are some photo's to get you going! The styling is superb. I really need to get myself some garters.

my girl wants to party all the time....

Parttttttyyy all the time! Last night was super duper fun. Oak has launched their latest department called A.OK which was celebrated last night at none other then Don Hills. I can't remember the last time I was there... must have been a Misshapes party eons ago. Talk about fashionista ville. This party was jam packed with the creme de la creme.. and not just because of the free booze! Thank you to all who let us take your picture. Loved all the shoes, socks, ties, stripes, and suspenders.
thanks Oak for a great time.
